Membership
The APSCUF-KU Membership Committee has four primary goals:
- To assist faculty who have questions regarding benefits, salary,
tenure, promotion or any other contractual issue
- To promote professional growth by mentoring new faculty
- To encourage communication between the membership and local
leadership
- To ensure that the faculty enjoy a healthy and productive workplace
Mentoring
The committee will be available to answer basic questions regarding life and
work here at Kutztown University. To that end, it will sponsor periodic
meetings that will address issues of faculty interest such as tenure and
promotion.

Building Captains
These individuals are responsible for your particular place on campus and
will help with problems involving working conditions such as:
- Faculty Offices
- IT
- Hot/Cold classrooms
- Mold
- ADA Compliance
To address these, your building captain will help with work orders
where necessary, refer larger problems to local meet and discuss, or
prepare grievances if the problems cannot be resolved at the local
level.
Communication with Local Leadership
Membership feedback is critical for local leadership to make
informed decisions. To that end, the committee will work with
APSCUF-KU department representatives to ensure that important issues
are brought before the Executive Committee. Conversely, the
committee will also assist the leadership when it needs feedback on
important matters (e.g., approval of major policy decisions at the
state level) affecting the union.
