APSCUF-KU President Receives Chambliss Faculty Research Award
Dr. Michael Gambone is this year’s recipient of the highly respected Chambliss Faculty Research Award.
Initiated in 2004, this award of excellence is made possible through the generosity of Dr. Carlson R. Chambliss former member of the Kutztown faculty from the Physical Sciences department. The Faculty Research
Award recognizes significant achievement in research and scholarship and may be awarded only once in a person’s career. The award was presented by University
Vice-President and Provost Dr. Carlos Vargas-Aburto during the February 28, 2007 faculty recognition and achievement ceremony held in the McFarland Student Union Building. Dr. Vargas told the audience that Dr.
Gambone, since his arrival at Kutztown University, has published three books, and reviewed ten others. He has presented at both regional and national professional conferences, and was the keynote speaker at the
World Forum 2003. Dr. Vargas also noted that Dr. Gambone promotes undergraduate research and routinely takes students to the annual Phi Alpha Theta conference where they present papers. Kutztown University
faculty awarded tenure and promotion during 2005-2006 were also recognized.
